CANADA: The new voices of dance

This October, audiences in Plovdiv will enjoy Canadian contemporary dance. Two performances, COSMIC LOVE and BYGONES, showcase a new generation of Canadian contemporary artists and their original approach towards transferring feelings and emotions through the power of choreographic language.

On the 11 of October Clara Furey will transform the stage of the “Boris Hristov” House of Culture into a cosmic space. Physical phenomena are to be challenged, alongside with the idea of space as a vacuum, while energy is seen as a shared resource. Through minimalist settings and projectors, Curey creates a work of abstraction to reveal the unique radiance of the living bodies and enhance new ways of communication.

COSMIC LOVE is the first solo creation of Clara Furey, a Montreal-based choreographer and an artist associate of Par B.L.eux, with the participation of her long-standing collaborators. The artists move intently and address the ritualization of simple gestures. Tickets are available to purchase online and at the EasyPay cash desks.

Masks, ghostly architecture and theatrical illusions empower every details of this virtuous choreography. BYGONES reflects on how we are shaped by what we overcome, and how something challenging can lead to something beautiful.

Out Innerspace is a Vancouver based Contemporary Dance organization founded in 2007 by directors David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen. OIS has dedicated over 10 years to creating extraordinary and integral dance experiences through uncompromising rigour and unreserved ingenuity.
